Our Family Taking Care of Your Family...

Cedar Lake Home Health and Hospice came out of the Humble family searching for ways to give patients the very best care available. They surrounded themselves with a staff of excellent individuals to form an extended family of caring.

As a young couple with three young children Douglas and Loretta Humble scraped together enough money to purchase a 30 bed Nursing Home Facility in Malakoff, Texas in August of 1967.  The facility has grown to it’s present 90 bed capacity by building a new family oriented facility for residents to thrive with a great atmosphere and excellent care.

The Humbles knew excellent care was important and needed an extension of that care for their discharged patients. They established Cedar Lake Home Health and Hospice in order to care for patients in their own home with caring, knowledgeable staff. They then purchased a small agency in Corsicana, Texas and incorporated the staff and patients into their Family of Caring.

That wasn’t enough, they then saw a need for a different kind of care for those with life threatening, terminal illness and in 1993 formed Hospice of Cedar Lake in order to help patients live comfortably and as fully as possible in the final stages of life.

In over 30 years of operation, there have been lots of changes and continue to be with all Insurance benefits, We’ve made a lot of changes ourselves but we remain the same family that wants to care for yours.
